Hong Kong saw four new imported cases involving Omicron BA.4 variant, as health authorities reported 328 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday.   
Among the new cases, 166 were confirmed through PCR tests, and 162 were positive rapid antigen test results reported by citizens.   
The Centre for Health Protection's principal medical and health officer Albert Au Ka-wing said the overall tally of the fifth wave of the pandemic now exceeded 1.196 million.  
Au added 39 imported cases, including 23 detected at the airport from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, Canada, Iceland, and India. Eleven of them were confirmed in quarantine hotels on the third to seventh day upon arrival.  
Four imported cases were found carrying the Omicron BA.4 variant, involving three men and one woman traveling from the United Kingdom and Canada. The city has so far recorded seven Omicron BA.4 cases, all of which were detected at the airport or quarantine hotels.  
A new infection cluster broke out at TamJai Yunnan Mixian in Tung Chung, as three diners, two men and a woman aged 32 to 40, were tested positive.  
The three diners did not know each other but were sitting close together. One of them had developed symptoms before going to the restaurant. All restaurant staff were subject to compulsory testing.  
The Imperial Kitchen cluster in Kwun Tong added nine more infections. The cluster has recorded 20 cases involving 19 diners and one staffer, so far.  
At the same time, Sky Cuisine restaurant in Sheung Wan saw another eight related cases – five customers and three staffers, taking the cluster's total to 64.   
In addition, another case was added to the Sun Mong Club cluster in Hung Hom, involving a 56-year-old male customer who tested positive via compulsory testing. The cluster has so far recorded 15 infections, involving 13 customers and two staffers.  
As for class resumption, 20 cases were reported from 20 schools involving two kindergartens, seven primary schools, nine secondary schools, and one special school.  
Hospital Authority's chief manager for quality and standards, Lau Ka-hin, said there was no Covid-related death yesterday, so the city's death tally stood at 9,148.  
A female patient in the severely mentally handicapped unit of Siu Lam Hospital developed a fever on May 14 and tested positive later. She was undergoing treatment, while seven other patients were listed as close contacts in the same room.   
The hospital later reported that a patient service assistant was confirmed, and the authorities are understanding the connection between the two. The hospital has suspended the admission of new patients and visitation arrangements.  
Public hospitals and treatment facilities are now housing 686 patients. Among them, 10 are in critical condition, 15 are in serious condition, and two are being treated in hospitals' intensive care units.
