Taipei, Oct. 13 (CNA) Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai (蔡依林) will hold six concerts in Taipei from Dec. 31 to mark the end of her “Ugly Beauty World Tour” next year.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, Tsai announced that she will hold six concerts at Taipei Arena — three from Dec. 31-Jan. 2 and three from Jan. 6-8 — as the finale to her world tour, which kicked off at Taipei Arena on Dec. 30 2019.
Prior to the announcement, Tsai had held 17 concerts at Taipei Arena and K-Arena in Kaohsiung over the past three years. With the newly added six events the world tour will have included more concerts than any previous tour in Tsai’s illustrious career.
As the conclusion to the world tour approaches after nearly three years, it has overcome numerous challenges with the spread of COVID-19. Many of the concerts in Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Wuhan and Beijing, were first postponed in 2020 and officially cancelled at the beginning of 2022, as local pandemic prevention measures were stepped up.
Meanwhile, Tsai said she will focus on her new album and a future tour after the world tour concludes on Jan. 8.
In addition, Tsai said she has donated 30,000 limited edition Ugly Beauty face masks to Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders for a charity sale, in the hope they can help to generate more attention and love for those in need.
Tickets to the concerts will go on sale at 3:28 p.m. on Nov. 5 on the KKTIX ticketing platform.
