TORONTO — The Taiwan Tourism Bureau recently celebrated Taiwan’s tourism reopening by promoting the destination with an authentic Taiwanese house pop-up activation in Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square.
Visitors were able to get a taste of Taiwan’s diverse offerings by visiting the life-sized activation of a traditional Taiwanese house.
This activation comes just a short while after Taiwan officially announced that quarantine requirements were eliminated for international visitors.
Following the announcement, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau decided the time was nigh to embark upon a multi-faceted campaign to promote the return of travel to Taiwan and, also, to inform the eastern Canadian market on the destination.
Visitors to last week’s event were able to enter the Taiwanese house to receive an experiential glimpse into Taiwan’s rich culture, history, and many outdoor adventure opportunities.
Director Claire Wen of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau in New York said: “We are thrilled for the local community to see what Taiwan has to offer. We welcome all tourists to come visit Taiwan and experience its beauty!”
Those who missed the activation in person can follow along on the Bureau’s Instagram page, @taiwantourism_na, where they can also find a link to enter the sweepstakes for one winner to receive roundtrip tickets to Taiwan with Air Canada. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 18 to qualify.
Taiwan is an extremely safe country, says Wen. Single female travellers can feel safe during their journeys, plus it’s Muslim-friendly with many Halal restaurants. Taiwan is also LGBTQ-friendly. It was the first Asian nation to allow same-sex marriage and hosts an annual pride parade.
