There will be no shortage of beer and tacos this July in Chicago, thanks to a variety of street festivals. The Taste of Chicago is also returning to Grant Park. Plus, you can spice things up with hot sauce or cool things down with a margarita. Here are 14 Chicago food events to keep your July busy. July 3, 2022 | Oak Brook Polo Fields, 700 Oak Brook Rd.
Celebrate the Fourth of July a day early with fireworks and food from restaurants in the western suburb of Oak Brook, as well as restaurants from other nearby communities. Beer, wine, and sangria will be the beverages of choice.
July 8-10 | Grant Park
Take in views of iconic Buckingham Fountain when Taste of Chicago returns to Grant Park this year. More than 30 vendors will showcase Chicago’s food scene, along with music and other entertainment. If you’re thirsty, there will be a beer hall, wine tent, and cocktail lounge, too.
July 9 | Naper Settlement, Naperville
Sample more than 150 craft beers at this beer festival in the western suburb of Naperville. Food trucks will also be on-site to help you absorb all those brews.
July 9-10 | West Loop, Washington Street from Morgan Street to Peoria Street
Try out some local vendors and beverages at this tropical-themed festival in the West Loop. 
July 15 | Horner Park
Head to Horner Park to sip on beer from 20 different breweries and cider houses. Food trucks and live music will also be on tap.
July 15-17 | Roscoe Village, Belmont Avenue to Damen Avenue
With cookout season in full swing, join the ultimate “patty party” in Roscoe Village for this burger festival. Vendors will be on hand to provide a variety of burgers, and festival goers will be able to vote for their favorite burger.
July 15-17 | Pilsen, 16th Street to Peoria Street
This Pilsen festival boasts an array of tamales from different regions of Latin America, plus handmade tortillas, a beer garden, art installations, music, and other entertainment.
July 21-24 | Highwood Metra Station Parking Lot, 317 Green Bay Rd.
Plenty of taco restaurants, caterers, and food trucks will be at the Highwood Metra Station parking lot for this taco-themed food festival. The event is in collaboration with the Highwood Days community festival that features carnival rides, music, and other entertainment in the northern suburb.
July 22-24 | Lincoln Avenue between Fullerton Avenue and Wrightwood Avenue
The 38th annual Taste of Lincoln Avenue is back in Lincoln Park between Fullerton and Wrightwood Avenues. Sample foods from the popular corridor, check out arts and crafts, and more.
July 23-24 | West Loop, 1340 W. Washington St.
This festival is a pizza-lover’s dream, with 20 pizza makers on location in the West Loop to serve up a variety of styles, from Sicilian and Detroit to deep-dish and tavern-style. It’s curated by Steve Dolinsky, who literally wrote the book on pizza in Chicago. On-site ovens will ensure that the pizzas are fresh.
July 23-24 | 121 N. Chicago St., Joliet
If you can handle the heat, the Illinois Hot Sauce Expo is in the southwestern suburb of Joliet with hot sauce tastings, beer and cocktails, and plenty of food vendors. Oh, and live music and wrestling!
July 23 & 24 | Navy Pier
Visit Navy Pier for the Chicago Margarita Festival. Sip on a variety of margaritas right on Lake Michigan and enjoy music and dancing, too.
July 29-31 | Downtown Whiting, Indiana
The pierogi is the main event for this festival in Whiting, Indiana just across the state line. Dozens of vendors, including several Polish restaurants, will be in downtown Whiting. Visitors can also check out the Polka Parade on Friday night.
July 30-31 | Chinatown, 2200 S. Wentworth Ave.
Explore the restaurants of Chicago’s Chinatown with the Chinatown Summer Fair, now in its 43rd year. There will also be family-friendly activities, artisans, and the Dragon & Lion Dance Procession.
