The Republic of China (Taiwan) donated 4,000 face masks and hand sanitizers to the Ministry of Tourism to assist in the fight against COVID-19.
The presentation of the masks and hand sanitizers was made on Friday morning by the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) David K.C. Chien to Minister of Tourism & Diaspora Relations Anthony Mahler.
“The donation is part of Taiwan’s efforts to assist its diplomatic allies in the fight against COVID-19,” said the Ministry of Tourism.
“In receiving the donation, Minister Mahler thanked the Ambassador on behalf of the people of Belize and stated that although the rate of Covid-19 infection is relatively low in Belize, there is still the need for precaution and safety.”
Minister Mahler said the supplies will be distributed to several schools in Belize.
