Visa-free entry to Taiwan will resume starting on September 12th. Over 60 countries, including the US, will be able to visit Taiwan as long as a three-day quarantine period is adhered to. 
On August 10th, Taiwan dropped its PCR testing requirements. There are currently no other entry requirements for travelers entering the country. 
According to Taiwan’s Bureau of Consular Affairs, the duration of a traveler’s stay will vary.

Taiwan took early precautions in 2020 and has been reluctant to fully open to tourism. 
There will still be a weekly arrival cap of 50,000. Travelers will have to take saliva tests when arriving in Taiwan.
“On September 5, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that to be in line with international trends and to balance the needs of disease prevention efforts and promotion of economic and social activities, Taiwan will restore visa exemption treatment for the nationals of the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, countries in Europe, and Taiwan’s diplomatic allies starting September 12, 2022,” says Taiwan’s Center for Disease Control in a statement. 
This ease in restrictions comes as the country is trying to boost its economic and social activities. 
Taiwan’s Centers for Disease Control acknowledges that most countries have eased their travel restrictions.
